We are a no-kill, all-volunteer shelter and rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned cats and kittens in the Marco Island, Florida area. We rely on the generous donations of the public for 100% of our funding.

Melody is a 4 year old Maine Coon mix female. She ws found in terrible condition, abandoned and fending for herself without a source for food and water. Her skin was covered with raw scabs from flea allergy. The area she was living in is infested with coyotes and this poor little cat is front declawed with no defense at all! She is so happy to be in a safe environment and her skin is beginning to heal. She is very affectionate but a bit shy so we are letting her rest and recoperate for several weeks before we begin our search for a furever home for her. We have promised her that this will never happen to her again.
Our mission is to continue to save abandoned and suffering cats like Melody. Please help us today. You can be the person making the difference for a cat that would otherwise not survive the irresponsible cruelty of their former family.

AT SUNSHINE BOOKSELLERS
The author, Lisa Fleming, will be signing the premier copies of her new children's book at Sunshine Booksellers, 677 S. Collier Blvd on Marco Island on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 11 am to 1 pm. Proceeds from the sale of her book will benefit For the Love of Cats. We will have kittens at the store to help promote the sale of the new book. The book will make wonderful Christmas gifts. $14.95 retail.

FARMERS MARKET ON MARCO ISLAND
We will have a tent at Veteran's Park on Elkcam Circle on Marco Island. Kittens, when available, will be on hand to help promote the sale of our custom made t-shirts, car magnets and other adorable gifts for sale. All donations and proceeds go directly to the care of the abandoned cats and kittens in the community.
Tommy Barfield Student Council Raises $110 to help For the Love of Cats continue their mission of saving abandoned cats.

THE SEAFOOD FESTIVAL WAS GREAT AGAIN THIS YEAR! Both Saturday and Sunday were very busy seeing lots of old and new friends. Sales of T-shirts, Car Magnets, Notecards and Donatiions totaled over $1000 towards our continuing efforts to save the lives of abanonded cats and kittens in the community. Thank you ALL!
