Welcome to For the Love of Cats!

Please visit our new BLOG for the latest in news, information, and to meet some of the newest cats and kittens in our shelter!

We are a group of passionate people dedicated to ending cruelty by saving the lives of abandoned cats and kittens on Marco Island.

To date we have rescued and adopted over 1200 cats and kittens into loving homes and TNR'd over 800 cats. In 2008, 40 of the rescued cats on the island were domestic housecats abandoned in the middle of the night due to the current economic environment and housing foreclosures. So far, 2009 has brought more of the same and we ask for any help that you can give us so that we may continue our efforts to save these frightened, disoriented and depressed adult cats that need hours of love and patience to help them recover from such a traumatic experience. Adult cats take time to place into a new loving home- please consider adopting a young adult cat into your home- they are so desperate for the love they once thought they knew.

Together we can ensure that every homeless kitten is rescued and adopted into a loving home.

You can help by giving a donation today.

Thank you so much!

Adopt Today

Naomi is a 2 year old blue cream female. She was abandoned and starving when we rescued her. She is one of the smartest cats we have ever had at the shelter. She is amazing, spunky, fun and full of energy. She must have been raised as an only kitten because she does not know that she should not bite you and that biting hurts. She just wants to play all the time and does not know what being pet and loved is like. She is a princess and she is sure she is in charge of the shelter! We are working on her behavior and she is learning how to play with other cats and gaining social skills. She gives great kisses, takes wonderful care of the baby kittens and really wants to be a good kitty. She is spayed, tested, treated, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $35.
